Want to trek to the edge of the Himalayas? How about cycling amongst ancient ruins? Filled with unspoiled nature and isolated from the modern world for years, Myanmar is the ultimate destination for adventure seekers. Our adventure tours take you off the beaten path to explore the beauty of Myanmar, whether by boat, on foot, by bike, or on the back of a native elephant!

The far northern Shan State of Myanmar sits in an area filled with a rolling landscape of green plateaus and jade lakes. The region is home to numerous ethnic groups who still practice a way of life that has been passed down for centuries. Come and meet them for yourself on a cycling and trekking adventure that will stay in your mind long after you return home. You'll trek over hills enjoying the crisp air, view spectacular lakes, and visit tribal villages to learn more about the local inhabitants.

The Shan State covers a large part of north east Burma and his home to Wa, Intha, Pa-o, Lahu, Akha and dozens of other minority people each with their own culture and language. Kentung is the capital of eastern Shan State and was until recently an independent Saopha or kingdom.

Though it is famed for its regal history, unique culture and magnificent temples, Myanmar remains one of the least visited countries in Southeast Asia. Come discover this secretive land for yourself on a thrilling bicycle journey that will take you from the former royal capital of Mandalay to the temple-dotted landscape of Bagan. Along the way, you'll get a glimpse at the real face of Burma, as you cycle through rural countryside, sample flavourful regional cuisine, and chat with local traders, farmers, and artisans.
MYANMAR ADVENTURE TOURS
Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, is a fascinating country, where timeless landscapes and ancient traditions fill the land. Over half of the country is covered by jungles. The enormous Irrawaddy River dissects the country in two. Beautifully preserved temples fill the countryside. For those seeking adventurous travels in an exotic land, look no further than Myanmar!
Travel the local way - by bike! - to explore the best of the country. The rural areas are filled with breathtaking scenery and traveling on two wheels gives you the chance to interact with villagers and encounter wildlife. Even in the larger towns such as Yangon and Mandalay, the traffic is light enough to ride around and enjoy the architecture, sights, and busy markets. Some of our favorite cycling journeys are around the plains of Bagan (or Pagan) and outside of Mandalay to the ancient city of Mingun. The cycling is along mostly flat roads filled with picturesque views.
Trekking tours in Myanmar range from light day treks to week-long expeditions up Himalayan Mountains. Along the border with China, Kengtung is the destination for trekking in Myanmar. Surrounded by endless green mountains and rivers, the area is inhabited by hill tribe people and ideal for a cultural and adventurous trek. In the Shan State, near Inle Lake, lies the towns of Pindaya and Kalaw which are great jumping off points for treks through villages inhabited by ethnic minorities such as Danu and Pa-Oh. For the serious trekker, head north to where the Himalayas fall into Myanmar and embark on a long trek through remote villages and up towering mountains.
In the far north, Putao is the starting point for most of the long trekking adventures but is also a great place for ‘soft’ adventures such as elephant riding and river rafting. For other water sports, Myanmar’s tropical Mergui Archipelago is ideal. Unspoiled beauty, endless stretches of blue water, and a vast array of marine life make it the best spot in the region for snorkeling, scuba diving, and sea kayaking.
Myanmar is paradise for Adventure lovers - Let Exotissimo show you the best the country has to offer!
