Family Holiday In Myanmar - 9 Days / 8 Nights

Family Holiday In Myanmar - 9 Days / 8 Nights - Overview
Yangon - Twantay - Bagan - Heho - Inle Lake

Friendly locals, incredible site-seeing, and a variety of activities await your family on this fun-filled tour of Myanmar. A country steeped in history and full of natural beauty, Myanmar is the perfect destination for a family holiday.

Arrive in Yangon where giant reclining Buddhas, glittering stupas, and colonial buildings are waiting to be explored.  A visit to the ‘National Races Village' is a fabulous introduction to the various ethnic minorities living in Myanmar and opportunities to try on traditional costumes and try out various traditional crafts is a fun hands-on learning experience.

Take a boat cruise out of Yangon to the village of Twantay. As you meander down the river, watch fishermen who use traditional nets and techniques as they try and catch their evening meal.  A local trishaw tour takes you through the pottery village of Twantay, to its colourful market, and amongst the friendly locals.

Fly to Bagan, where thousands of stupas and temples are ready to be explored. Kids of all ages will enjoy climbing to high platforms for sweeping views and discovering painting-filled hidden chambers amongst the temples.

Beyond the temples, Bagan is filled with workshops where the craftsmen will invite you to try your hand at their trades. And a visit to a local school gives your family the chance to interact with friendly students and learn about the educational system in rural Myanmar.

Continue to Inle Lake, a spectacular expanse of water surrounded by the green Shan hills. Cruise the lake in a longtail boat, exploring the stilted villages, floating gardens, and resplendent temples. Try your hand a Burmese cooking as you prepare dinner with the help of a local Intha family and dine together in their stilted house overlooking the lake.

As your return home, reflect back on the incredible sights and amazing experiences of your family's holiday in Myanmar. This nine day trip is sure to create a lifetime of memories!
